Shumpei Naruse is an up-and-coming young talent and his most noteworthy qualities are extraordinary stamina, aggressiveness and sharp dribbling. Also he is able to play both sides as a full back or wide midfielder.
Shumpei is a graduate of Nagoya Grampus youth academy and made his J.League and League Cup debut while still a member of the U-18 team. And he promoted to the top team in 2019.
He played 25 league matches in 2020 and won the J.League YBC Levain Cup in 2021 season.
Shumpei was on loan to Montedio Yamagata in 2023 season after playing for Fagiano Okayama on loan in 2022 season.
He was on loan to Mito Hollyhock in May 2023.
Shumpei has been on loan to V-Varen Nagasaki since April 2024 after returned to Nagoya Grampus.
He has been selected to Japanese youth national teams at various age group, now is aiming for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
